Bucket List Bookstores Part 1

I love visiting book stores and browsing whatever the shelves have to offer. Unfortunately, where I currently live there are not as many bookstores as I would like and usually the only option is either Barnes and Noble or the library. These aren’t bad options at all but I just wish there were more options. That’s why every time I travel, I make it an effort to visit bookstores and see what variety of books they have. Below I will mention a few of my favorites and a few I am hoping to visit. P.S: These are all in the U.S but I will be posting one for different countries in the near future.

VISITED:

City Lights Books, San Francisco

I enjoy City Lights Books so much. From the lovely dark wood shelves to the diverse book selection. The books on the shelves are amazing. There are so many various types of books from a variety of genres and authors all covered in the most interesting and beautiful covers. The multiple levels house some of the best books I have read and many more I hope to read spanning fiction through the ages and surrealism to poetry, classics and various non fiction. This is a must visit bookstore with not only amazing books, amazing events and amazing picks for your next read.

Powell’s Books, Portland, Oregon

Another one of my favorite spots is Powell’s books. The one I went to was huge! This is very exciting for me because the bigger the bookstore, the bigger the book selection and the bigger stack of books I can get. I love the books selection as well because while they have popular titles they also have titles that you definitely cant find on the shelves of a mass market bookstore. I would say if there is one in your are it is also worth a visit.

Bay Books, Coronado Island, California

Every year, my family and I would travel to Coronado Island and each time I would visit this bookstore and pick a book. There are many fun books here and even though it is small, the selection is a wide range and there are plenty of cute shops around to grab a coffee. If you happen to travel here this is a perfect place to get your beach read.

HOPE TO VISIT:
